The installation is quite simple. Please be careful when handing the red magnet holder pieces, as they are extremely strong and will snap together very rapidly causing damage to a person. Do not underestimate their power. These are industrial grade, ultra-high power and very strong with the ability to spring back and snap together in an instant without ANY warning.
KEEP THEM SEPARATED BY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WHILE INSTALLING. JUST PLACE ONE AT A TIME AROUND THE PIPE AND USE SOME TAPE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE (IF NECESSARY AS IRON PIPES WILL HOLD ON THEIR OWN—COPPER WON’T) WHILE YOU CAREFULLY PLACE THE SECOND UNIT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE PIPE DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THE FIRST RED MAGNET HOLDER.
PLACE THE UNIT WHERE IT CAN DO THE MOST GOOD AND CAN AFFECT THE WATER GOING TO ALL APPLIANCES (WATER HEATER, ETC). DO NOT PLACE IT AFTER THE LINE SPLITS OFF AND TRY AND PLACE IT BEFORE THE WATER HEATER. THAT WILL TREAT ONLY THE WATER GOING TO THE HEATER. YOU WANT TO GET IT ONTO THE MAIN WATER LINE BEFORE IT STARTS SENDING WATER TO DIFFERENT HOUSE FUNCTIONS. THE IDEA IS TO TREAT THE WATER BEFORE IT IS STARTING GOING VARIOUS PLACES. EMAIL US IF YOU NEED HELP. WE DO HAVE SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOUGHT THE LARGER UNITS ACTUALLY SPLIT THEM UP AND PUT ONE HALF OF THE UNIT BEFORE THE WATER HEATER SINCE THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT APPLIANCE, AND THE OTHER HALF ON THE COLD WATER MAIN LINE. THESE LARGER UNITS ARE POWERFUL ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY DO THIS. WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS WHO USE MULTIPLE UNITS IN THIS WAY. THE TWO HALVES DO NOT NECESSARILY HAVE TO GO TOGETHER, BUT THE DESIGN IS TO CREATE A CIRCULAR FORCE FIELD AND CONCENTRATE IN ONE SPOT.
Enclosed are two red steel holders w/magnets and three (an extra in case you need it) nylon ties AND one red Velcro strip, which may be easier to use. Use either the nylon or the Velcro or both varieties. USE A COMBINATION OF TWO TIES AND STRAPS even though only one is shown in the picture. IF YOU ARE USING A ½” OR ¾” PIPE (diameter), YOU MAY OR MAY NOT NEED ONE OF THE ENCLOSED FOAM BUFFERS. IF YOU DO NEED ONE TO KEEP THE UNIT FIRM AGAINST THE PIPE. Place one steel holder against the main water line and carefully move the second place in opposite of the first, exactly as shown in the picture.
THESE CAN BE PLACED ON ANY TYPE OF PIPE, STEEL OR IRON, COPPER, ABS, PLASTIC. THE MAGNETICS ONLY STICK TO THE STEEL AND IRON PIPES BUT THE MAGNETIC CURRENT GOES RIGHT THROUGH COPPER, PLASTIC, AND ABS PIPES SO IT WILL PERFORM IT’S FUNCTION.
BE SURE THE TWO UNITS ARE FACING EACH OTHER SO THAT BOTH ARROWS ARE FACING THE SAME DIRECTION. THE UNITS CAN FACE EITHER DIRECTION BUT THEY MUST FACE THE SAME.
Once the two pieces are together, wrap the nylon or Velcro ties around the two holders as shown in the picture, and pull tight so that the unit is firmly against the pipe. The nylon ties have to be inserted correctly or they will not stay secure--one side is serrated and when inserted correctly you hear it "click" and cannot loosen it as once tightened it cannot be adjusted looser. It can be tightened more, but never loosened. If the tie doesn't start to grab and "click", then it needs to be turned over. You do not have to cut the excess, if any, of the tie. It is perfectly OK to leave it long although cutting it looks nicer. The unit should be placed so that it rests on a fitting so it will not move and slip down the pipe or , if not possible, make sure the rubber mesh wrap is in place and place the unit around the mesh and secure the straps. The mesh does not interfere with the magnetic forces.
INCLUDED WITH THIS UNIT IS A PIECE OF RUBBER MESH WRAP. WE SUGGEST IT BE USED TO HELP SECURE THE STEEL BAR AND KEEP IT FROM TRYING TO ATTRACT TO THE OTHER BAR VIA MAGNETIC FORCE. THESE ARE INTENDED TO HELP THE WATER SOFTENER UNIT FIT MORE SNUGLY AROUND A PIPE. THE WRAP IN NO WAY INTERFERS WITH THE MAGNETIC FORCES AS THEY GO RIGHT THROUGH THEM AS IF THERE WERE NOT THERE.
